Nature
In Cuba, from one side to the other , you will find areas of great beauty and high ecotourism values. Nowadays apart from Biosphere Reserves, Natural Landscapes, National Parks, Ecological Reserves, World Heritages are more than 300 protected areas which are 22 % of the national territory. Some of these sites are among the favorite of nature tourism lovers.Up to 6300 flora species have been recorded so far in all the archipelago, more than half of them endemic and 13000 of fauna species whose level of endemism is very impressive: 40% mammals and 90% amphibious. Among the smallest treasures is the frog, the bat, and the zunzuncito, with only 6cm long. There is also a very tiny scorpio (10mm) and an orchid of one centimeter, whose flowers and leafs are less than 5mm.The Manatee and the Palma Corcho, are cosidered living fossils. There is also the Cuban almiquí cubano, and the most colorful snails in the planet: the polymitas.
